There is a place on Route 6 where time seems to stand still and worlds collide. A place to find peaceful rest, engage in conversations with new friends, and make peace with oneself. Yes, I am indeed talking about Café Camino de Santiago.
The first thought when you find this place is, really? How can there be a place with this name in Second Life? And then you approach the door and you see it. You see that symbol and you realize it’s real. The symbol that my avatar in the virtual world known as RL saw every morning from the window of their grandparents’ house. And then you cry. You cry because some of your happiest memories were born around that symbol.

The place is built with care shown in every detail. It is more than just a beautiful building, and its builders have paid attention to every aspect: surroundings, light, vegetation, furniture details, etc. Nothing better than coming to see it life, but I hope the pics help.

But after discovering this wonderful place, I couldn’t just stay like this. Just contemplating its beauty and wondering why. I had to know. I needed to know! So I contacted the owner of Café Camino de Santiago; Zazouღ (zazou.rivera).
As expected from someone who had built such a place, her answer was all kindness. She told me that she loves cycling or horseback riding along Route 6 while admiring the sights along the way. One day she saw a plot of land for sale right next to Route 6 and immediately decided that it would be the place to bring together two worlds and two passions. Her own, the Route 6, and that of her RL avatar, the Camino de Santiago.
If you have read me before, you know that I am a fan of Mainland. I am passionate about bringing value to the continents because I believe that It makes Second Life much more realistic. But in this case, it wouldn’t make any sense to have built a place like this anywhere else. To have taken it out of reality and put it into a perfect cubic box.
Someone said that the miracle of the Camino is that it turns ordinary things into magical ones, and that while we walk it, we cease to be wanderers and become pilgrims. Certainly, the magic of the Camino is now also present in Second Life thanks to Zazouღ (zazou.rivera). I encourage you to visit it, join the group of pilgrims, and contribute with your tips to the maintenance of this paradise.
